How to eat chocolate but be healthier
OK, so I have to be honest…for someone who loves their chocolate, not eating it is really difficult. Painful, even. It can be as hard as giving up smoking or not watching Eastenders (I’m not even joking…I wish I was!). So to not eat it you have to employ special tactics, as that’s really the only way!
And when it comes to special tactics, I have a few up my sleeve. Here are a few which will slay the chocolate-desire of the most stubborn Alpha male or the most cake-loving femme fatale!

Did you know that chocolate contains caffeine? Well, I’m sure you did, come to think about it. But here’s another fact: if you’re taking medication, or have a condition – even a mild heart condition – then caffeine can be really bad for you. It can speed up your heart rate into something called a Tachycardia (posh for fast heart beat) and make your life a right nightmare! Avoid this by doing the following…
If you have to eat chocolate and simply cannot stop, at least do yourself a favour and eat dark chocolate that is better quality and contains more natural ingredients and less sugar and other bad stuff. This should instantly make you feel better and you’ll be cutting out much of the caffeine too. And don’t believe the hype: dark chocolate has come a long way in the last few years and now you can buy varieties with orange and mint and many other flavourings. All taste amazing and may be more expensive, but are oh so much healthier! Now not even the alpha male with every excuse under the Sun has a reason to not do better!
If that doesn’t sound quite up your street then why not get on the health bar bandwagon? There are tons of healthy alternatives out there which have chocolate and other sweet things in them. Give them a go and it won’t matter so much if you get hooked! There’s another advantage with the bars too: they’re designed to give you an energy boost, so they are ideal for when you are feeling peckish and just need a little something.
