There are number of different ways that you can stay fit and healthy and one of the more popular ones is cycling. If walk to and park or even on the streets you will likely see a number of people cycling. Cycling is a great way to exercise, while still being fun but cycling is an outdoor sport and involves extended session in the sun. So staying hydrated while cycling is absolutely crucial!

To begin with, drink at least 10 to 12 ounces of water a good half hour to forty-five minutes before you get started. This will ensure that you are sufficiently hydrated before your start your trip. Some people try those energy drinks others will swear by the vitamin water type drinks, well all of those may work but most experts will recommend that you stick to just pure water.

To keep yourself hydrated during the ride, make sure you carry a couple of bottles along, depending on the amount of time you plan to spend cycling. One bottle per hour should suffice. Attach water bottle cages to your bicycle frame so you can carry the bottles with ease.

If you’re planning on a long distance ride, strap on a couple of hydration packs. These insulated packs are easily strapped to your back or waist and deliver water via a tube to a mouthpiece through which you can sip water whenever you like. They are extremely convenient to use and are especially handy when there aren’t too many places en route for you to refill water bottles.

When drinking during your ride try not to drink too much at once. Take a good sip at certain intervals. It is like going horse riding after you get some horse insurance, you need to constantly rehydrate.

Getting miserably dehydrated and feeling wobbly and light-headed is the last thing you want when you’re out having a good time or exercising. So make sure you drink plenty of fluid before, during and after your cycling session.
