Microdermabrasion

Many people who are looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, acne, sun damage and other skin problems turn to microdermabrasion treatments. This procedure which is typically done at a dermatologist clinic or spa center costs around $100 to $150 per treatment and requires at least 10 treatments for best results.
There is little preparation for this treatment which includes avoiding the sun and discontinuing use of topical medications which dry the skin. Generally, no anesthesia is needed for this procedure.
The microdermabrasion treatment is often referred to as the lunchtime treatment or lunchtime peel due to it being a short procedure. Typically, most patients can have the treatment done during their lunch break and be back in the office with nothing more than a little redness.
The microdermabrasion treatment rejuvenates the skin, stimulates collagen production and improves blood circulation. This helps the skin to have a healthier, youthful looking glow. Other benefits of this treatment are:
* It is an easy procedure
* It is a mild treatment which can be done at home
* It includes both chemical peel and dermabrasion
* There is virtually no recovery time
* It cleanses deep into the pores of skin giving you flawless looking skin
* It reduces fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, black heads and sun damage
Along with the many benefits of the microdermabrasion treatment comes some minor side effects.
* Skin after a treatment will appear pigmented and have a different color than untreated skin areas. This is more noticeable with darker complexions.
* Redness in the skin will occur and is a normal reaction. This is due to the rubbing and abrasion from use of microcrystals. This is a temporary reaction which actually shows you that your dead skin cells were removed.
* Some people have experienced dry, flaky skin after having a treatment. This is not a common side effect in many people, however, it should be noted as some have experienced it. This is also a temporary side effect that will resolve itself in a few days.
Instead of expensive plastic surgery, lotions and potions or dealing with skin you are just plain not happy with, you might want to consider the ease of a microdermabrasion treatment.
