Ways to have a healthy pregnancy BEFORE you get pregnant

It is always important to take care of your body whether you are pregnant or not.

Ways to have a healthy pregnancy BEFORE you get pregnant

Everyone knows that you have to change what you eat and drink when you
are pregnant. You may even need to change how you act and what you do
on a regular basis, in order to have a healthy pregnancy. But there
are several things you can do BEFORE you get pregnant to ensure a
healthy pregnancy. Many of these things will cost you nothing to do, others will. If you have any money concerns, getting insurance to cover you now is a very good idea. Your mental health is as important as you physical, and if you end up spending your time being worried about money, that will certainly not help towards your general well being and health.

1. Eat healthy now. Changing your diet before you get pregnant can
help in many ways. You are making a healthy body for the baby to live
in. This may help you get pregnant faster and keep you from being as
sick while you are pregnant. Also, it helps you build healthy habits
now, instead of later. Old habits are hard to break, so make eating
healthy an old habit, before you get pregnant.

2. Exercise regularly. You are allowed to exercise when you are
pregnant, but you shouldn’t start anything new. Exercise now so you
can keep it up throughout your pregnancy. Exercise will help you keep
your weight gain down and give you more energy while you are pregnant
and may even help with weight loss after your baby is born.

3. Read, Read Read! There are so many books on pregnancy. You don’t
need to wait to be pregnant to start reading them. You will learn
what to eat, what to wear and so much more from reading pregnancy
books. Don’t wait till you are half-way through your pregnancy to
read the books. You might find you’ve been doing something wrong the
whole time!

4. Start prenatal vitamins. Some women can’t stomach a prenatal
vitamin when they are pregnant. Start taking it now to give your body
some time to get used to it. Ask a doctor first. Taking a vitamin is also
a good habit to start. It is hard to remember to take a pill every day. Get
into the habit now, so you don’t forget once you are pregnant.

5. Stop smoking. There are so many complications that can arise to
pregnant mom’s that smoke. Quitting can be hard. Start now, so you
don’t have the stress of being pregnant on top of the stress of
quitting smoking.

Building healthy habits now will benefit you greatly once you get
pregnant. You are trying to build the perfect conditions for your
baby to live and grow for the next 9 months. The sooner you start,
the more optimal the conditions of your body will be by the time your
baby is conceived. Just remember to keep up all these habits once you
have that little one growing inside! These are great ways to have that
happy healthy pregnancy.
