Ways To Fight Cellulite And Improve The Appearance Of Your Skin

Cellulite is a growing problem for many women (not so much men)
today. Not only does it look bad, but it can have a negative
impact on a woman’s self esteem. There are ways to reduce if
not control cellulite, but first a general understanding of what
cellulite is should prove beneficial.

Cellulite is a problem that happens more so when we age. It is
the displacement of fat below the skin. When we age, a shift
takes place in the way fat is deposited under our skin. This is
the process of the dermal layer losing collagen. When this
happens, the uneven fat causes the skin to have a dimple effect
or otherwise known as “cottage cheese” effect on the skin. This
is not very attractive which is why so many women seek out
cellulite treatment and other ways to reduce if not get rid of
cellulite. Cellulite cannot be prevented as it is really
determined by genetics, hormones and age. It can however, be
kept under control with a few methods.

One of these methods is exercise. Your body needs regular
exercise to burn calories and fat. There are certain types of
exercises that you can do to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Toning and strengthening exercises as well as aerobics, yoga and
pilates are a great form of exercise to work through cellulite.
You can also try walking, biking or swimming which also help.

Massage can be added to your cellulite treatment routines. Many
spas and salons offer this service. Many include the use of
body scrubs, essential oils and electrical pulses to stimulate
cells which firm and tone skin. A cellulite massage is a great
way to eliminate dryness of the skin while working out the fatty
deposits which actually cause cellulite.

Although weight gain is not the main reason for cellulite, it
certainly does not help. In many cases, if you simply lose
excess fat you should see an improvement in your skin.

Moisturizers benefit your skin by keeping it soft and smooth.
It does not actually eliminate cellulite (fatty deposits) under
the skin, but it improves the appearance of your skin overall.
There are many anti-cellulite creams and moisturizers that you
can buy to speed up the process. Look for those in your local
drugstores and grocery store cosmetic aisles.

Do not forget about a proper diet to help get rid of unwanted
cellulite. There are a few foods that actually help in
cellulite reduction such as onions which help release water
buildup from skin cells and fresh vegetables, preferably
organic. Foods rich in Vitamins C, E and B along with calcium,
iodine, potassium and fiber are used for detoxification. You
can also choose foods such as bran, oat, avocados, bananas and
pears to name a few.

Eating healthy, exercising and keeping your skin in good
condition with moisturizers, creams and massage will only
benefit you in the long run to help fight aging and cellulite.
They are not the only form of cellulite treatment, but are a
good start. You can try these out first before consulting with a
dermatologist for other suggestions.
